My profile

Your profile is part of your user account. This article explains how to edit the basic settings in your profile.

How to change your PIN code for your library card

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate Registered accounts and click Show.
  5. Click Change PIN.
    a)    In Old PIN type your old PIN.
    b)    In New PIN type your new PIN.
    c)    In Confirm PIN type your new PIN again.
  6. Click Save to save the changes.

How to change your password

[not applicable to autouser - but to existing Arena users if any] You should change your password regularly to ensure its security. You should change your password immediately if you believe it has become known to someone else.

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate My details and click Show.
  5. Locate Password and click Edit below it. The password editing fields will appear.
  6. In Old password type your existing password.
  7. In New password type your new password.
  8. In New password confirmation type your new password again.
  9. Click Save to save the changes.

How to change your username

[not applicable to autouser - but to existing Arena users if any] Username is the name with which you log in to Arena.

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate My details and click Show.
  5. Locate Username and click Edit below it. The username editing field will appear.
  6. In Username type your new username.
  7. Click Save to save the changes.

How to change your display name

The display name provides a way to identify yourself uniquely within Arena, for example, when you write a review.

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate My details and click Show.
  5. Locate Display name and click Edit.
  6. Type a new Display name.
  7. Click Save.

How to change your e-mail address

This e-mail address is the one used to inform you about new titles (if you have required this) or if a librarian want to contact you in an other matter.

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate My details and click Show.
  5. Locate Email and click Edit. The email address editing fields will appear.
  6. In Email type your new email address.
  7. Click Save to save the changes.

How to change your security questions

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate My details and click Show.
  5. Locate Security questions and click Edit.
  6. Select three different questions in the three dropdowns, and type the three answers respectively.
  7. Click Save.

How to change or delete a telephone number or e-mail address

This e-mail address is the one used to inform you about stuff related to the catalogue; your reservations, overdue loans etc.

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate My Profile and click Show.
  5. If there is a telephone number you want to change, click Change below the Telephone number field. If you want to delete it, click Delete.
  6. If there is an e-mail address you want to change, tick Change next to the Email field. If you want to delete it, click Delete.

How to add a telephone number or e-mail address

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate My Profile and click Show.
  5. To add a telephone number, click Add phone number, and then type the following:
    a)    In Country select your country in which you are using Arena.
    b)    In Area code type your telephone number area code.
    c)    In Telephone number type your telephone number.
    d)    Tick Allow SMS messages to allow the phone number to be used to receive SMS notifications (text messages).
  6. Click Save.
  7. To add an e-mail address, click Add Email address, and then type your e-mail address.
  8. Click Save to save the changes.

How to add or remove absent dates

Absent dates is a feature supported by some library systems. It ensures that reservations are not made available to you when you are absent. To use it, you must specify a range of dates during which you will be absent, for example, you may be on vacation.

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate Absent and click Show.
  5. In From date specify the start date in the range.
  6. In To date specify the end date in the range.
  7. Click Save to save the changes.
  • To remove absent dates, clear From date and To date and click Save.

How to define default pickup branch

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate Default Pickup Branch and click Show.
  5. In the drop-down, select the place where you want to pick up reserved items. This place will then be selected by default when you make a reservation.
  6. Click Save.

How to change notification method

Here you select how the messages about reservations and overdue loans should be delivered.

  1. If you have not logged in to Arena, do so now.
  2. Locate the Login panel.
  3. Click My Profile. The My Profile panel will open.
  4. Locate Notification method and click Show.
  5. Tick the pickup notice delivery option and the overdue warnings delivery option of you choice.
  6. Define how many days before due date for a loan that you want an alert, and the delivery method for that alert.
  7. Click Save.
